Taken by my two year old- which is pretty cool (?), as I haven’t felt called to post too much these days- thanks Oso. What have we been up to you may be wondering? Aside from packing your orders (thank you!) & growing a tiny human in my belly, I’ve been mainly gardening everyday as my new practice and working on a few yard-build-outs. This weekend we planted watermelon, pole beans, lots of lavender for distillations, cucumbers, shishitos and mustard greens. I’ve noticed that we’ve drastically cut down on grocery shopping thanks to last months plantings- hooray! We finished a new squash & melon patch in the yard with fluffy straw cushioning making it a fun play area for us all. And today we’re working on a soaking tub zone learning more about tilling, sand & tile work. It may be hard to leave after quarantine is done, but I’ll be remembering all of these lessons I’ve learned in being much more self-sufficient, advocating for myself with my doctors during this funky time, bonding & sharing crops with neighbors (one neighbor does a 7pm flute concert each night for our block) and counting down the days until we have friends and family over and can laugh and relax under the sun & moon together. It’s not all roses everyday, but I’m taking what I can from this time and practice (often) shifting my perspective & putting in effort at the things I can control! Hope you’re all well and thriving. Tell me what you’ve been planting/doing.
BIG HUGS. :) :) :)
